We welcome anyone who is willing to come and serve with both time
and resources.
Mission Trip Calendar
Please check the calendar for availability for your team. The Mission
has capacity for 25 people at one time. Many types of groups may visit
at the same time so if your time frame is has room for your group
please inquire about visiting and serving with us. Please note the
"green" lines are MNC trip dates. The "blue" lines
indicate bookings at The Rainbow Reef Resort. Many volunteers choose RRR as a place to relax and debrief after their service or adjust
to Fiji upon their arrival and so we include their bookings as a resource
for your trip planning.Accomodations
Private Rooms: There are 4 private rooms above the clinic, with beautiful views of the "extinct" volcano!, jungle and ocean. All rooms are beautifully and tastefully furnished and has a private bathroom with shower.Dormitories: Above the clinic are a girls' dormitory and a boys' dormitory, each with 2 bathrooms and two showers.
Rainbow Reef Resort: A private resort reachable only by boat just 20 minutes from the clinic. The setting is breathtaking, with ¼ mile of secluded white sandy beach, 4 private beachside bungalows, outstanding snorkeling just off the beach, gourmet meals served in the large indoor/outdoor restaurant, scuba diving, and deep sea fishing all just minutes away from the clinic. Dining Facility and Pool: Between the clinic and the ocean is a beautiful thatch dining area with a modern commercial kitchen. Adjacent to the dining area is a swimming pool that is salt filtered, which is healthier than chlorine and easy on the eyes and hair.
Mission Canteena: To serve our visitors, the local community, and to raise funds for the clinic, the Mission is finalizing a small store, to be completed by April, 2010. The store will offer toiletries and other basic necessities; produce, staple, and snack foods; crafts from the local communities (such as woven baskets, purses, and mats); and Mission souvenirs including t-shirts, hats, etc. Also at the Canteena will be an Internet café with 2 computers available for a reasonable hourly fee.
Travel Time and Lodging Costs
To
get to the Mission at Natuvu Creek, there are several 10 hour non-stop
overnight flights from Los Angeles every week. A valid passport is
required. Average airfare from Los Angeles is $1,575 coach. Children
may qualify for a discount. The cost per night includes all 3 meals served in our ocean front dining area. Daily rate per person: $75 Dormitory Room; $100 Private bedroom Suite for one person or $150 for 2 people.
Types of Trips:
The Mission at Natuvu Creek welcomes medical teams, church groups, university students for short and long term education credit, retreats, families, and individuals. You will find you are blessed beyond your expectations by those you serve.
Preparation: We will work with your group prior to your trip. You will be supplied with training materials and a pre-trip schedule to familiarize yourselves with international travel, Fijian culture and customs, and the rewards, joys, and pitfalls to avoid.
We will work with your team to develop and refine your plan, making certain that you are fully prepared before you leave andt preparations are in place on the ground when you arrive in Fiji, to ensure the most successful and enjoyable trip possible.
Your trip may focus on a single location and a single area of service
or you may be interested in several types of service as well as serving
off campus. We will help you design a plan that is effective, yet manageable,
with a balance of service, recreation, relaxation to create the best
trip possible
When it's time to head home you'll wish the trip would never end, and
your heart will be filled and refreshed.
REQUIRED TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION
If you are a U.S. citizen, you will need a valid passport for entry
into a foreign country and upon return to the United States.
It must be valid six months beyond your intended stay and have one to two blank pages remaining.
Allow yourself sufficient time to have your application processed if you are applying for a new passport or renewing an expired passport. Visit www.travel.state.gov for more details.
In addition, participants 17 years old or younger, when traveling with a sole parent, should carry a notarized letter of permission to leave the country signed by the absent parent.
If you are not a U.S. citizen, please check with the embassy of the country you are visiting for information on documentation requirements.
VACCINATIONS/HEALTH
There are no required vaccinations for our trips. You can also go to
www.cdc.gov. Please check with your health care provider if you feel
this will be an issue.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
You must be in good physical and mental health. Any physical condition
requiring special attention, diet, or treatment must be reported when
the reservation is made.
AGE ELIGIBILITY
Most of our trips require that all travelers be 18 years old at time
of departure. For our family adventures, children must be at least 7
years old.
